Safety on Strehana
On Strehana nobody sees a room's exact address until the host types it in the chat. Identity can be verified through Evrotrust, anyone can block and report, and every report is decided by a person on our team. The rest is in your hands: do not pay a deposit before you have seen the room and met the person.

Who sees what
- Only the host sees the room's exact location. Everyone else sees a point 100 to 125 metres away, the neighbourhood and the city. Strehana never shows the address, not even after a match; the host decides whether and when to share it.
- A seeker's card shows a first name, age, first photo, budget, areas, move-in date and the card's text. The profile with all photos is visible only to people with an account.
- Phone numbers and emails are shown nowhere. The conversation runs in your Inbox until the two of you decide otherwise.

Identity verification
You can verify your identity through Evrotrust, a Bulgarian qualified trust service: you enter your personal number (ЕГН), confirm the request in the Evrotrust app and your profile gets a «Verified» badge. It is optional, and it needs a Bulgarian personal number, so most newcomers cannot use it yet. The badge is not a recommendation and does not guarantee the person is trustworthy, but it does guarantee a real adult stands behind the profile. A verified host can accept applications only from verified people, and in the deck you can show verified profiles only.

Blocking and reporting
You can block a person: after that you cannot message or like each other and you do not see each other in the deck. We do not notify them. You can report a card, a listing, a single message or a person, from the site and the app, and pick a reason. We do not tell the reported person who reported them. Every report reaches our team and a person decides; nothing is hidden automatically because of the number of reports.

Before you pay a deposit
- See the room in person or on a live video call, and meet the person who will hand you the keys.
- Never transfer a deposit to a stranger «while the owner is abroad». It is the oldest scam on this market, and it targets newcomers who cannot visit yet.
- Ask for a written contract with the rent, the deposit, the bills and the notice period. The deposit is customarily one month's rent. Ask for a bilingual contract if you do not read Bulgarian, and never sign what you cannot read.
- Check who pays electricity, water, heating and the building fee («вход»), and whether they are included in the rent.
- If you need an address registration at the Migration Directorate, ask before paying; the landlord has to sign for it.
- If something is off, report it on Strehana. If it is fraud, report it to the police too.
Strehana only connects people. We are not a party to the rental agreement and we hold no deposits. Everything you pay for the room, you pay to the person you are dealing with.
- Is verification required?
- No. It is optional for both sides. If it matters to you, turn on the verified-only filter.
- Is the address shown after a match?
- No. Strehana never shows the exact address. The host writes it in the chat when they decide to.
- What happens when I report something?
- The report reaches our team and a person reviews it. We may hide or suspend a listing, a card or a profile. We do not say who reported.
- Can I verify without a Bulgarian personal number?
- Not yet. Evrotrust identification needs an ЕГН. You can still use Strehana fully; the badge is optional.
