How Strehana works
Strehana shows one deck: cards of people looking for a room or a flatmate, and listings of rooms for rent. You like who you want. If they like you back, the conversation opens. Posting, liking and chatting are free, and Strehana charges no commission.

The deck: one card at a time
On the site and in the app you see one card at a time. There are two kinds: a person looking for a room or a flatmate, and a room for rent. You can like or pass on any card. Passing is unlimited and nobody sees it.
The deck first goes through your filters: city and areas, budget or rent, move-in date, smoking, pets, languages. A card that fails a filter is not shown at all. The order of the rest is explained openly on the page «How we order the cards».
A like is a contact
What a like sends depends on who likes whom:
- a host likes a person: it sends them an invite to the room;
- a person likes a room: it applies for the room;
- a person likes a person: it proposes to look for a place together.
When two people like each other, the invite, application or proposal becomes accepted and the conversation opens in your Inbox. Nobody sees a phone number or an address until someone types it in the chat.
The seeker's card
You post it in two minutes, without waiting for the right listing: budget, areas, when you are moving and for how long, the languages you speak, two sentences about who you are. Other seekers and hosts read it. You can mark «open to team up», and another seeker can propose a team: two people with €350 each rent a two-room flat that neither could alone.
The room listing
You describe the room and the home in two short steps: photos, rent, deposit, bills, who lives there and what flatmate you are after. Applicants come to you with a profile and habits, so you choose a person rather than fill a room. Only you see the room's exact location. Everyone else sees a point 100 to 125 metres away, the neighbourhood and the city. Whether and when to share the address in the chat is your call.
The contact limit
Every like is a contact, and contacts in the last 24 hours have a stepped limit: 3 without an account, 6 with one, 12 with a published card or listing, 20 with a completed profile, 40 with an active room listing or a verified identity, 60 with both. It keeps the deck for people who are actually looking, not for mass messages.
Verification is optional
You can verify your identity through Evrotrust and your profile gets a «Verified» badge. It is not required. A verified host can accept applications only from verified people, and in the deck you can show verified profiles only when that matters to you. The details are on the Safety page.
What it costs
Posting, liking, applying and the conversations are free. Strehana charges no commission and is not a party to the agreement between you and the other person. The one paid thing is a promoted listing or card, labelled «Promoted». The prices are on the Pricing page.
- Do I need an account to browse?
- No. The deck is visible without an account, with up to 3 likes that are sent once you sign in. An account is needed to chat.
- Can I see who liked me?
- Yes. People who liked you come first in your deck and are marked. Like them back and the conversation opens.
- Who lists the rooms?
- The people renting them out: owners and tenants looking for a flatmate. Strehana charges no commission.
- Is there an app?
- Yes, for iPhone and Android. The site and the app show the same deck.
- Is the site in English?
- Yes. Cards and listings are written by their authors, so many are in Bulgarian; the «Speaks» filter on the feed shows people who confirmed they speak English.
