How Search & Ranking Works
We believe in transparency. Here's exactly how listings and applications are ranked on Strehana.
Location Filter
Location is a hard filter. Only listings within your selected search area (neighbourhood radius, drawn area, or map view) appear in results. Listings outside your area are not shown at all.
Match Score
The match percentage you see on each listing reflects how well it matches your search filters — price range, lifestyle preferences (smoking policy, pets, household atmosphere), property amenities, and availability. For room listings, lifestyle compatibility is weighted higher than amenities. Location does not affect the match score since it's already filtered.
Featured Listings
Listers can purchase Featured status for their listings. Featured listings appear above standard listings in search results and are marked with a 'Featured' label. This is a paid placement — the lister pays to increase their listing's visibility. Featured listings remain at the top even when you re-sort results (for example by price); within that top group they follow your chosen sort.
Boosted Applications
Seekers can boost individual applications for EUR 2.99. Boosted applications appear above non-boosted ones when the lister views their applicants. Among boosted applications, they are sorted by profile completeness and lifestyle compatibility.
Early Bird Access
New listings become visible to all users after a short waiting period. Early Bird subscribers see new listings immediately when they are posted, giving them a head start on applying.
